Counselling

A space to talk, understand and make sense of things

Sometimes it can be difficult to talk to the people closest to us when we're struggling.

You might worry about burdening family or friends, fear being judged or feel that they're simply too close to the situation. Sometimes you may not even know exactly what is wrong, you just know that things don't feel right.

Counselling offers a different kind of space.

It gives you the opportunity to talk openly with someone outside your everyday life, in a confidential and non-judgemental environment.

You can take the time to make sense of what you're experiencing, explore your thoughts and feelings as begin to understand what might help.

You don't need to have everything worked out before you come.

How counselling can help

People come to counselling for many reasons.

You might be looking for support with something that's happening in your life right now or you may want to understand patterns or experiences that have affected you for a long time. You may be looking for strategies to manage anxiety and stress or for a deeper dive into why you are feeling unhappy or not good enough.

Counselling might give you:

* A space to talk without judgement

* A better understanding of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

* Strategies for managing everyday stress and anxiety.

* An opportuity to explore difficult early experiences and their lasting impact.

* A better awareness of what is stopping you from moving forwards with your life.

* Support with relationships and recurring patterns.

* Help with fostering a greater sense of self-worth and self-compassion.

* A chance to consider what you want and what might need to change.

Sometimes a few sessions can be helpful when you're dealing with a particular difficulty. At other times, it can be valuable to explore things more deeply over a longer period.

We'll discuss what you're looking for and work together at a pace that feels right for you.
